Forest City Lovers began as the solo project of singer-songwriter Kat Burns and developed, over six years, into a critically acclaimed folk-pop band that released three full length records and various singles. in April 2012 they announced their indefinite hiatus from live perfomances but the music lives forever online and has been showcased recently on CBC's Cracked, United States of Tara and a CN Rail ad campaign.

Since the release of The Sun and the Wind in 2006, Forest City Lovers had fantastic opportunities tour all across north America, Europe and to perform at numerous festivals, including the Hillside Festival in Guelph, Ontario; the inaugural Sled Island Music Festival in Calgary, Alberta; Sappyfest in Sackville, New Brunswick; Keep It Cool in Lecce, Italy; and Folk on the Rocks in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The band were also among the contributors to two compilation CDs, Friends in Bellwoods, and Friends in Bellwoods II, as a benefit for Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank.
The band acknowledges all the amazing supportive fans and beautiful people they met along the way and are eternally grateful. Also big thank you to the Ontario Arts Council and FACTOR for their support of FCL.
